INDUSTRY
- Implement the Freeport Tax Exemption, previously approved by the voters, in order to help our existing and potential industries. By implementing this policy we will align ourselves with other counties around us. This will "level the playing field" as we try to attract new businesses to our County.
- Work to put together a portfolio of properties that are currently available for use. This will enable us to meet with potential businesses and show the different locations that are available and what the virtues are of each location.
- Continue our work with Regional and State Development Authorities to promote the many benefits of locating their business in Chattooga County.
COMMUNITY
- Work with our House Representative and Senator at the State Capitol to see that the County is in consideration for State monies that become available. These funds can be used on city and county revitilazation, community projects and recreation departments.
- Work with our House Representative and Senator to ensure that our school system is getting the maximum amount of funding available. The quality education of our children is the key to a brighter future, for them and our County.
- Work with tourist authorities to get maximum exposure for the great events that we have in our county.
COMMISSIONER'S OFFICE
- Schedule and hold monthly Commissioner's meeting. Information on the progress of the county will be discussed and community input on any issues will be welcomed.
- Have periodic interviews with our local media outlets. This will enable those who can't attend the monthly meetings to be involved in the progress of the county.
- Implement an interactive web site for the Commissioner's Office. The citizens of the county will then be able to communicate with the Commissioner and check on county progress when it is convenient for them. The web site will have a contact page, similar to mine, where citizens can leave contact information and comments on any issues they have.
